Live music fans gather ’round, we’ve got an exclusively leaked announcement to share about an upcoming gig to add to your calendars later this year!

That’s right, Auckland’s getting another music festival purely for lovers of the indie electronic scene! We are so pumped to share what we know so far.

Spring City Festival

Word around the interwebs is that the festival ‘Spring City’ is an “inner-city fling” to be held at Ellerslie Racecourse later this year. This news is so fresh the official announcement hasn’t even come out yet, but our sources tell us it’s going to be an absolute banger with a killer line-up. The tagline ‘where something good can work’ tells us it’s going to be an absolute groover with good vibes all around.

The Lineup

Alright, guys, we can neither confirm nor deny this line-up, but our good friends over at Concrete Playground did a good job of leaking the official press release just yesterday. It’s since been deleted, but only after some serious Facebook ads landed it straight onto our newsfeeds, and we can’t possibly help but share these insane findings.

Two Door Cinema Club

Headlining the festival is no other than Northern Ireland’s Two Door Cinema Club. These guys have been an indie electronic fan’s staple, on repeat since way back in 2012. They’re a huge part of what makes the genre what it is today, with their post-punk influence and a dancey vibe. This is for sure going to be an act not to be missed!

Flight Facilities

I saw Flight Facilities at Laneway Circa 2017 and they’re no strangers to New Zealand when it comes to playing shows and festivals alike. Hailing from Australia, this production duo has been regulars of the popular Aussie ‘Falls Festival’ since 2013. They’ve performed at festivals all over the world including Coachella, which is no surprise since their beats are absolutely ideal to boogie to all day long in the desert.

Crooked Colours

This trio has been on the indie electronic scene for a solid amount of time, and have gained themselves a loyal fanbase. Crooked Colours has a bassy sound that is hard not to groove to, mixed with smooth vocals makes for some catchy tunes. It’s no wonder these guys are one of Australia’s hottest underground acts right now.

Find The Event Yourselves

Shady lineup findings aside, we wouldn’t spread rumours to you guys. We’re 100% sure Spring City is going to be officially announced any day now, as tickets are set to go on sale August 12th. If you don’t believe us, check out their official website at springcity.co.nz. You can even RSVP in advance to the Facebook Event. We’re absolutely buzzing for this, it’s too late to not get excited.
